Jayalalithaa properties
Right after the tragic and sudden demise of Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalithaa who weilded a iron like grip in the state politics,speculation is increasing as to who will own Jayalalithaa’s properties worth Rs 113.73crs as filed in her election affidavit this year.
In the election affidavit, movable assets were valued at Rs 41.43crs and immovable at Rs 72.09crs. Jayalalithaa’s immovable assets include her Poes Garden bungalow (built-up area of 21,622sqft) in Chennai, and 4.50 acres of farmland with a farmhouse near Hyderabad that Jayalalithaa and her mother Sandhya had bought in the 1960s.
Jayalalithaa also owned Rs 3.43 acres farm land in Kancheepuram before entering politics in 1981. According to reliable sources Jayalalithaa written a will two years ago and according to this Sasikala will own the Poes Garden house. The Kodanad estate in the Nilgiris, Jaya Publications, Sasi Enterprises and the other businesses in which the two friends were partners will also go to the surviving partner.
Vivek Jayaraman, son of Ilavarasi and Jayaraman (Sasikala’s brother) will get Jayalalithaa’s Hyderabad farmland. Jayaraman passed away due to electrocution when he was renovating the farm house and after his death, Ilavarasi along with her daughter and son moved into Poes Garden.
