A luxury private travels bus trying to avoid hitting a motorcyclist ran across the road divider and hit a Toofan van coming in opposite direction. About 13 travellers in the van died on the spot. Two others succumbed to injuries on the way to hospital. The ghastly mishap took place at Veldurthi area in Kurnool district. The private bus was carrying passengers from Hyderabad to Bangalore.
The impact of the head-on collision was very high on the Toofan vehicle. About 17 travellers were there in the van. Those travelling in the bus were safe. The van was totally smashed. The remaining travellers also suffered serious bleeding injuries. The motorcyclist escaped unhurt. The deceased persons belong to Ramavaram village in Gadwal district in Telangana.
