Superstar Rajinikanth is eagerly waiting for his next film 2.0 which is touted to be the costliest Indian film till date. Made on a budget of Rs 400 crores, the film has been helmed by Shankar and is the sequel for Robo. The principle shoot of 2.0 has been wrapped up recently and the post-production work of the film is on fast pace. Shankar unveiled the glimpses of the shoot on how the film has been captured using 3D cameras. Amy Jackson is the female lead and Akshay Kumar essayed the role of the lead antagonist.
A massive audio event has been planned in Dubai which will take place on October 27th. The makers are said to have allotted 2 million USD (Over Rs 12 crores) for the audio event and the entire cast, principle crew will fly through chartered flights. Though the event has been planned for Diwali, there has been a slight delay in the audio event informed sources. AR Rahman is the music composer for 2.0 which is betting big on visual effects. Shankar is in plans to release the film simultaneously in China, Korea and Japan along with Indian release. Lyca Productions bankrolled this prestigious project.
