Rajinikanth starrer 2Point0 has considerably slowed down on weekdays after a strong show in the first weekend. The visual extravaganza, directed by Shankar, started off with lukewarm premiers and moderate first day collections but gradually picked up momentum in the first weekend with a strong haul on Saturday and Sunday.
After ending the first weekend with a decent $ 3.7 M and emerging as the fourth biggest grosser of South India, 2Point0 has performed poorly on weekdays. On Monday and Tuesday, the film managed to collect $ 130K and $ 160K respectively to surpass the $ 4M mark at the US box office. Going by this trend, 2Point0 might end as a loss venture for the producer as it was their own release after they rejected a 30 Crore offer from a noted distributor.
The film needs to collect a minimum of $ 7M to be termed as a decent grosser. But, that mark looks very distant at this point. So, the film needs a strong second weekend to minimise the loss.
