Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is said to be seriously taken note of the tussle between Guntur Zilla Parishad Chairperson Shaik Janimun and district minister Ravela Kishore Babu. He felt the alleged life threat to a minority women leader from the minister has not only dent the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) image, but also put the government in irksome position.
Yesterday she had literally broke down at a media conference, fearing a threat to her family from Social Welfare Minister Ravela Kishore Babu. This has exposed simmering group rivalries in the ruling TDP.
After knowing about her press conference, Chandrababu Naidu has immediately directed AP state party president Kala Venkata Rao for a full pledged probe into rivalries between these two leaders. In this regard, a three-member committee was constituted with deputy chief minister Chinna Rajappa, former minister Gorantla Butchaiah Choudary and district party president GV Anjaneyulu .
She accused that the minister has been adopting non-cooperation attitude with her with regard to developmental activities in his constituency Prattipadu, besides involving in Zilla Parishad’s purview of transfers. She also accused that on the recent Ramzan festival day, some people sent by the minister had threatened her family members.
But the minister made light of the alleged threat perception of the Janimun, describing her as his daughter at a media conference. Finding fault with the woman leader for going to the media, he said he will sort out differences if any with her.
However, the style of functioning of Ravela Kishore Babu in his own constituency became controversial with many party leaders. Recently, Guntur Rural Mandal Parishat president Thota Lakshmi Kumari went on a fast a few days ago, resenting the alleged dictatorial functioning of the minister.
