The charges of deletion of voters’ names are countless in Telangana early polls. The opposition Congress party has finally concluded nearly 50 lakh voters could not cast their votes though they have eligibility and their names were there in lists prior to the election. The last minute missing of voters’ names in lists has left many people including VIPs shocked and they blamed the election officials by speaking up in the media.
Telangana Congress Working President Revanth Reddy said they had noticed deletion of 50 to 200 voters’ names in each polling booth and this happened systematically all across the state. As there was no disciplinary action against the staff responsible for this farce, lakhs of eligible voters could not exercise their right on the polling day. All this happened even as the Congress leaders kept on bringing pressure in the months before the polling on election officials for remedial measures.
Revanth demanded action against CM K Chandrasekhara Rao for enrolling his vote at two places in Gajwel and Siddipet assembly segments. The CM has two votes while lakhs of ordinary citizens have no vote at all and this would be taken to the notice of the Election Commission, he added.
Revanth exuded confidence People’s Front is going to form the second government after the formation of Telangana state and the Congress state leaders would thank the people and also Sonia Gandhi on behalf of Telangana people for conferring separate statehood.
