Though the Telangana assembly conducted its business in cordial environment on the first day, when begins its winter session yesterday, today it started with obstructions. Soon after beginning of the session, 9 Congress MLAs and 2 TDP MLAs were suspended from the house for the day. Congress members were suspended within five minutes of the beginning of the session. After 15 minutes TDP members were suspended.
While opposition members insisted for a discussion on their adjournment motions, Speaker suggested to take up that issue after question hour. As the members didn’t relent form their demand, Legislature Affairs minister T Harish Rao moved resolution suspending 9 Congress MLAs for a day.
Leader of Opposition K Jana Reddy objecting for suspending their party members immediately starting of the session. He said all members should be treated equally.
Suspended Congress MLAs include former ministers J Geetha Reddy, D K Aruna,G Chinna Reddy, Jeevan Reddy and state Congress working president Bhatti Vikramarka. Later, when TDP members also started protesting in the house, its members A Revanth Reddy and N. Venkata Veeraiah were also suspended for the day.
