Following the impressive box office success of Tamil hit 96, star producer Dil Raju acquired the remake rights in Telugu. He has roped in Sharwanand and Samantha Akkineni to reprise the roles of Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha Krishnan from the original. It has already been announced that the regular shooting will commence in Summer.
As per close sources, there was a slight misunderstanding between Dil Raju and director Prem Kumar regarding the music composer for the Telugu version. Dil Raju wanted to lock a Telugu composer so that the music will suit the sensibilities of audience here. But, Prem wanted to rope in Vasanth Kumar, who rendered a terrific album for Tamil version, to carry the essence of the story. The different opinions of director and producer led to a slight delay in the start of pre production work.
Reportedly, Dil Raju and Prem Kumar have come to terms and sorted out the issue. It is learnt that Tamil composer Govindh Vasantha has been finalized to compose the tunes. The other cast and crew will be announced shortly. Jaanu is the tentative title for Telugu version.
