Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that “In India, Andhra Pradesh stands first in Corruption and Development”
The TDP leader made this statement in response to a report of National Council for Applied Economic Research (NCAER) quoted by Leader of Opposition Y S Jaganmohan Reddy. The YCP leader said that the report by NCAER places AP at the top in corruption. Further he said “We would have been happy if the Chief Minister had spoken the truth”
During the heated debate when the CM’s was giving reply on the motion of thanks on Governor’s address, this slip of tongue by Chandrababu took everyone by surprise. The CM was angry especially when the YCP leaders marched to the speaker’s podium, as the mic of the opposition leader was abruptly cut off. This angered the TDP leaders who in turn shouted slogans against the opposition. The speaker later adjourned the session to Tuesday.
In his hurried attempt to give it back, the CM failed to realise the mistake. Within hours this statement has gone viral on social media.
