As always YCP leaders staged a walkout as the TDP held a discussion regarding Speaker Kodela Shiva Prasad’s comments at the women’s parliament meet. The YCP wanted to discuss about Agrigold victims. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said that the Opposition party is spreading false news about the speaker. The video of the speaker addressing the media was played in the assembly. BJP floor leader P Vishnukumar Raju said that the YCP members do not want to create ruckus but the opposition leader is forcing them to go to the well on petty things. He demanded suspension of the opposition leader.
Earlier Chandrababu made a statement on the AgriGold scam to which Jagan critiqued that the statement was inadequate and lacked human touch. Further he noted that AgriGold assets have been bought by some people including wife of Minister Prathipati Pulla Rao. The TDP minister immediately interfered and challenged that he would quit politics if the allegations against him were proved. Chandrababu took a serious note and challenged Jagan to boycott the house if his minister is given clean chit.
The Andhra Pradesh opposition leader decided to introduce no-confidence motion against speaker. Speaking to reporters at the assembly point, the YCP leader said “We no longer trust the speaker and he has lost our respect, so we want to introduce no-confidence motion”. He alleged that the chief whip Srinivasulu signaled the Chief Minister to adjourn the house after the water conservation oath is taken in the assembly yesterday. He said that after the pledge, the speaker did adjourn the house without giving any chance for Jagan to speak. He further said that the context was set for Agrigold victims today discussion but the ruling party deviated the topic and started discussing about Speaker and Sakshi media.
