What can be done in a minute? According to Facebook 243,000 photos will be uploaded. How long is a minute depends on which side of the examination center’s gate you’re on. The ‘No entry to even one-minute late comers’ to examination centre rule is killing aspirations of many students. Due to various reasons students who are unable to make it on time are losing the opportunity to write the exams.
Media ensured to point out the destruction this one-minute rule is creating in the lives of the students. The public empathised with such students whose future course has changed for being late. Even a few government representatives vented their anger about this stringent rule.
Due to this backlash, the governments have been contemplating to modify the rule. They are even pondering in the direction of allowing a maximum of 15 minute delay. However, societies raised objections saying that a student should be able to plan accordingly and must have an idea of his local traffic or situations.
After the leakage of the tenth-class question paper, it is next to impossible for the 15-minute rule to materialise. Once a paper is leaked, within few seconds it can be sent to lakhs and crores of people. There will be individuals who can get answers for these questions within minutes and send it across to students. The aspirants who worked hard the entire year are at a loss.
The SSC exam starts at 9:30 am in the morning. The Board can change the timings of the exam considering the traffic hours for the students in Urban areas and transportation difficulties in rural areas. After the recent incident, government may not give the 15 minute grace and it is valid. Moreover, there are possibilities for the to extend to 16-30 minutes delay soon.
