Chiranjeevi has returned to his first job as an actor and even made an entry into television industry. While he is visible to viewers of Meelo Evaru Koteshwarudu, there is uncertainty over his political career. Is he with Congress? Will he be joining BJP or Jana Sena? Why did he not resign as Rajya Sabha member? Is he even a politician?
The actor is not commenting on the political developments in state. The he picked TSR film awards over the political meeting on Saturday. Both Chiranjeevi and T Subbarami Reddy who are Congress Rajya Sabha Members did not attend Congress party coordination committee meeting. Chiranjeevi spoke at length as to why he had to attend the function organized by Subbarami Reddy.
The actor-cum-politician was never seen at any political meeting in recent times. AICC general secretary Digvijaya Singh along with PCC president N Raghuveera Reddy addressed the party meeting at Andhra Ratna Bhavan in Vijayawada on Saturday. The absence of Chiranjeevi and TSR was raised by some of the senior leaders. The leadership acknowledged that Chiranjeevi was busy with shootings and TSR with businesses, so they are unable to dedicate time to politics. M M Pallam Raju said that Chiranjeevi was absent due to personal reasons. He further rubbished the allegations that Rajya Sabha Member was contemplating to quit the party.
The Tollywood Megastar attended only one session out of the twenty monsoon session sittings last year. The MP did not attend key session on Special Category status discussion in Rajya Sabha, which is one of the aspect his brother Pawan Kalyan is pursuing with the government. Chiranjeevi was witness in the house to the promises made by Congress during the discussion on AP reorganisation act 2014.
It is evident that Chiranjeevi doesn’t want to associate himself with the party which has hardly any chances of revival. But the actor’s preference to movie related events and absence in all political events is clearly sending signals that he had quit politics and returned to his movie career.
