Tollywood Megastar and Rajya Sabha member Konidela Chiranjeevi may soon join Bhartiya Janata Party. A close confidant of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Ram Madhav has been allegedly in deliberations with the actor-cum-politician.
Days after Former Union minister M Venkaiah Naidu quit BJP after being picked for NDA Vice Presidential candidature, the saffron party affairs in Andhra Pradesh are being handled by its national general secretary Ram Madhav who hails from East Godavari.
AP BJP cadre is looking up to a leader who can become the face of the party and lead them. With Venkaiah taking step back and BJP giving indications that it doesn’t want to be TDP’s ally, Madhav allegedly has been trying to get the Megastar represent their party.
Rumours of Chiranjeevi joining surfaced several times in the past, but the actor rubbished the reports and said that he will remain with the grand old party. Due to the likes of Venkaiah the possibility of Chiranjeevi joining the Saffron Brigade were bleak at that time.
However, with the changing political scenario in AP, especially with the Kapus venting ire on TDP and Venkaiah moving out of active politics, BJP rooting for Megastar is a well-planned move.
