Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Decathlon which is major French designer, manufacturer and retailer of sports goods on Wednesday. The firm will explore the opportunities of setting up stores in Amaravati, Vishakapatnam and Vijayawada.
APEDB will facilitate the entry of the French firm which sources 40percent of its products from Indian manufacturers. It may be noted that Andhra Pradesh Government envisions Vishakapatnam, Amaravati and Tirupati as future sport cities.
According to DC, Chief Executive officer of APEDB welcoming the opportunity said that Andhra Pradesh is building sports infrastructure at a fast pace and the capital city will be first ever planned destination for sports and fitness.
