Andhra Pradesh state government is preparing ground for the auctioning of Sadavarti Satram lands to be held on September 14. Fresh tender notification was issued for the controversial lands in Tamil Nadu. The last date for submission of tenders is September12.
In March2016, the government held auction for 82.11 acres of land sale near Chennai city. YSR Congress Party alleged that the government sold the land for throwaway prices and knocked the doors of the court. After several twists and turns, the Hyderabad High Court ordered the government to issue notice for fresh auctioning of lands.
The amount of Rs. 27.44 crore would be treated as base price for the new auction. If no one participates in the auction, then the land will be given to Mangalagiri MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy who deposited Rs 5crores along with Rs 22.44crore initial auction bid amount.
