Chief minister Chandrababu Naidu today urged his Tamil Nadu counterpart to respect the sentiments of linguistic minorities of in Tamil state.
Writing a letter to TN chief minister J jayalalithaa, AP CM said continuing the Telugu medium would help her get cooperation of from the Telugu people, who are a major force in the state. He recalled how Andhra Pradesh was promoting Urdu, the language of Muslim minorities, Naidu said AP had 60 schools where Tamil is medium of instruction. He urged Jayalalithaa to review the government’s decision to make the Tamil as the only medium of instruction in Tamil Nadu and restore the Telugu medium to its original status. He said such a decision would make happy not only the Telugus in Tamil Nadu but also the entire Telugu community spread across globe.
