Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is not mincing his words when expressing discontent over the lack of funds from center to the state. However, he said that the relations between BJP and TDP are “cordial” without any problem. Yet, the Chief Minister was denied appointment to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah.

The saffron party in keenly attempting to increase its footprint in Andhra Pradesh. It may want to contest in more constituencies which is circumscribed if it goes as a TDP ally. BJP may also want to form a coalition with YSRCP or Jana Sena sidelining TDP so that it can contest for more seats.

Consequently, when marching into 2019 elections, TDP will most likely have another plan in place with the first plan is continuing alliance. Instead of last moment explanations and tactics, Chandrababu reportedly said that it is good to have a plan in place. Therefore, he is making sure to point out the delinquencies of the BJP-led-NDA government regarding projects and funds for the state at regular intervals. So that even if BJP says not to TDP-alliance, people are aware that Centre deprived the state of its rightful share. Gradually imbibing antithetical sense against BJP among the people, TDP can protect itself from the wrath of the people.

In his trip to the national capital, Chandrababu deliberately mentioning about revenue deficit, pending bills of Polvaram, Special package incentives and Vishaka Railway Zone which the Centre on its part is delaying is a part of this strategy.
