Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has given a go ahead for the proposal to setup 6,500 Anna Village Malls in the first phase at review meeting with civil supplies department on Friday.
The government had been contemplating on converting 29000 Ration shops into village malls for some time now. The malls would be primed with the partnership of Reliance Retail and Future Group.
Naidu instructed officials to design a special logo and make the malls look eye-catching in around 200sqft space. The Anna malls will also sell products from DWACRA groups, Girijan Cooperative Corporation, MEPMA and produces procured by the government from farmers.
While 25percent of the cost would be given by the state government, another 25percent would be secured through Centre’s Mudra Loans. The Ration shop deals have to manage the rest of the 50percent.
