The entry of women into Sabarimala temple will turn it into a sex tourism spot like Thailand with immoral activities said Paryar Gopalakrishnan reportedly, following the Judgement of Supreme Court. The apex court on Friday referred the case of allowing women to enter the shrine to a Five-judge constitution bench.
The Travancore Dewasom Board (TDB) president Gopalakrishnan said that no self-respecting women would enter the temple even if the court grants permission. Furthermore, he noted that it is an age-old tradition and has to be respected.
The temple bans entry of women between age of 10-50 from entering the shrine as it is said to be the menstrual age. The Kerala state government condemned the comments made by the board chief and demanded immediate withdrawal of such comments.
