Ilayathalapathy Vijay is back with Mersal which released during Diwali season. The movie landed into a stir after an episode carried some controversial dialogues about GST that has been implemented by the BJP Government. This clocked controversies which boosted up the collections across Tamil Nadu. The movie grossed Rs 212 crores in just 12 days and has been declared as the biggest hit in the actor’s career. However the Telugu version titled Adirindi is yet to hit the screens.
The film completed the censor formalities in Chennai however it could not get the clearance despite of chopping off the controversial episodes for the Telugu version. The makers are still in talks but are yet to receive the censor certificate. With already the film getting delayed thrice, the makers are in plans to approach the revision committee and wrap up the formalities. Sharat Marar is releasing Adhirindi in Telugu which has been directed by Atlee and produced by Sri Thenandal Films.
