Nagarjuna is relaunching Akhil as his first movie in the direction of Vinayak bombed at box office. This time he chosen sensible director Vikram kumar ( “Manam” movie fame). Nagarjuna also going extra mile to make sure this gets a solo release date and he already had discussions with other makers who initially planned to release their movies on that date. He also told in an interview that he is following up with Vikram almost on daily basis to make sure he will be ready with the movie by that time.

Now it is less that 45 days and there is quite a bit of work pending. Vikram Kumar wants to take more time and do it perfectly. Vikram kumar is type of guys who wants perfection and takes his own time to finalize everything. However, Nag wants to release on that date at any cost because he firmly believes release date is as important as the content of the movie. Sankranthi is a festive season and big movies like Agnathavasi are slated to release, Robo is coming by the end of January and Summer dates are already blocked by the makers of Rangasthalam, Bharat anu Nenu and Naa Peru Surya. So Nagarjuna’s planned date i.e. Dec-22nd is the only window that is available. Because of this all this tension has started among the unit.

As per sources from Annapurna Studios, the movie will still release in December and efforts are in big way to reach the dead line.
