Manushi Chhillar Miss World 2017
Manushi Chhillar, 20-year-old medical student from Haryana, has become Miss World 2017. She is the winner of the 54th Femina Miss India World 2017. She was crowned at a glittering ceremony in Beijing on Saturday. A total of 108 beauties cat-walked the Chinese stage in Sanya City Arena of which five made to the finals. Manushi edged out her rivals from England, France, Kenya and Mexico to win the crown for India after 17 years at the beauty pageant.
Puerto Rican beauty Stephanie Del Valle, Miss World 2016, crowned Manushi. The first and second runners-up are Miss England Stephanie Hill and Miss Mexico Andrea Meza.
What clinched her the crown is, probably, the answer she gave to the question in the final round, “Which profession according to you deserved the highest salary?”
Manushi’s answer: “I think a mother deserves the highest respect and when you talk about salary it’s not always about cash but I feel it’s the love and respect that you give to someone. My mother has always been the biggest inspiration in my life. All mothers sacrifice so much for their kids. So, I think it is the job of a mother that deserves the highest salary.
