Kiran Kumar Reddy’s brother joins TDP
In a rather surprising development, Kishore Kumar Reddy, younger brother of former AP CM Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy (KKR) joined the ruling TDP. Chandrababu Naidu formally welcomed Kishore Kumar Reddy into the party by draping the yellow shawl around the his neck. CBN and KKR were bitter political rivals for several years. But with Kishore joining TDP, political face of Chittoor district is definitely about to change.
KKR’s father Amarnath Reddy was CBN’s mentor in politics but they became rivals after CBN joined his father-in-law’s TDP party. Rivalry was so bitter and when Kiran became speaker, CBN did not give any welcome statement and did not support his candidature for speaker post, which is said to be honorary post as per constitution. Later, KKR became CM as high command thought he would be right choice to face CBN and Jagan, as he is also from Rayalaseema like CBN and Jagan. Later YSRCP accused CBN and KKR colliding to put a check on Jagan’s political prospects. At the same time TDP accused Jagan and KKR colliding because if Jagan weakens, high command may think of replacing him with Telangana candidate or Kapu candidate from AP.
Kishore also contested the 2014 election from Piler constituency from KKR’s Jai Samaikya Andhra Party and lost in the elections. Piler has been Nallari family’s stronghold but because of equations during bifurcation he lost.
But now things have changed. Sources say Kishore has approval of his brother KKR to join TDP. But, CBN praising Kiran as a very good CM and lauding his fight against Congress high command to stop state bifurcation is yet to be digested by Telugu people.
We need to wait and see, if KKR also joins TDP or only his brother will be in TDP and he will be in another party. Seems time has now come for KKR to reveal about “bride” and “Muhurtham” as he commented earlier..
