The release date woes for Telugu big ticket films which are getting ready to hit the screens in April next year are likely to be compounded with the latest announcement from Rajinikanth’s 2.0 makers. An official statement from Lyca Productions revealed that the film release worldwide on April 27, 2018.
Telugu biggies Bharat Ane Nenu, starring Mahesh Babu in the lead, and Allu Arjun’s Naa Peru Surya are scheduled to release in the last week of April. As 2.0 makers tentatively fixed for April 13th, BAN and NPS producers have locked April 27th to release their films. Both producers are reluctant to prepone or postpone their movies as April 27th is an ideal date for Summer release.
But, the latest statement from 2.0 makers have sent shock waves to both BAN and NPS producers. 2.0 is the costliest Indian film ever which will be have a massive release in South. So, a box office clash with 2.0 may easily impact the revenues for any other big ticket film in South.
It remains to be seen if BAN and NPS move out of the race or if they stick to their plans and take on 2.0.
