Modi, known for his political strategies tried pulling the Congress party into the ongoing row between the Centre and Andhra Pradesh in fulfilling the promises made to Andhra Pradesh in the AP Reorganization Act. Speaking on Motion of Thanks to President’s address, the Prime Minister held the Congress responsible for the current state of Andhra Pradesh.
‘Congress is the reason behind the hardships faced by Andhra Pradesh. The AP bifurcation was carried out on non-scientific terms, compromising on the interests of the people of Andhra Pradesh. During Vajpayee time, three new states were born, and there was no problem. But the Congress tried to rip the nation into pieces for its political gains.
Rajiv Gandhi humiliated a CM (from backward Caste) in Hyderabad Airport. That one incident formed the foundation stone for the rise of TDP. I would like to remind that Late NTR came up with TDP party to protect the pride of Telugu people. After NTR announced Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy as the presidential candidate, the Congress conspired against Sanjeeva Reddy overnight. Neither Nehru or Congress had a sense of democracy while governing the nation,’ said Modi.
Though this speech was hailed by BJP leaders, it did not go well with the Congress leaders. Meanwhile, the TDP and YSRCP leaders walked out of the Lok Sabha.
It is clearly evident from Modi’s speech that, he is trying to hold Congress responsible for the current situation of Andhra Pradesh and behave as if BJP is coming to AP’s rescue.
