Jairam Ramesh, who was the person behind drafting Telangana bill, has challenged Chandra Babu Naidu and Prime minister Modi. Modi in Parliament and CBN on various platforms expressed that AP Reorganisation Act is unscientific and that is the root cause for all the post bifurcation issues of Andhra Pradesh. Now Jairam challenged – “If the Reorganisation Act is unscientific make it scientific and pass a fresh bill”.
Speaking at a programme on “AP State Reorganisation Act 2014, Assurances – Implementation’ in Tirupati on Saturday, Jairam came heavily on both Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for their failure in implementing the Act. He told “Now four years have passed since the Act was passed in Parliament. It has so many features for overall development of the State. If the Act was implemented fully, several important places in AP would have been developed on par with Hyderabad”. Supporting the bifurcation of the state, Jairam said, several provisions like special package for four Rayalaseema districts and three north coastal districts were put in the Act.
He also responded on the allegation that the act was unscientific. He challenged the governments to make it scientific and introduce the bill. He also assured, if they introduce such bill, Congress will fully support it.
