Superstar Rajinikanth pinned many hopes on his next film 2.0 which has been named as the country’s costliest film. Shankar, the film’s director managed to miss three deadlines which did not go well with the makers Lyca Productions. After the film walked out of summer race, Lyca was not really happy with Shankar and the series of delays. They wanted the film to hit the screens during summer and Shankar revealed that he was unsatisfied with the post-production work. This did not bother Lyca and they were left frustrated. Right after Rajinikanth came to know about the drift between Shankar and Lyca, he intervened to stop further damage for 2.0.
Rajinikanth after listening to both promised to release Kaala during the summer slot which has been allotted for 2.0 after which the issue got resolved. Shankar too voted for Rajinikanth’s decision as he could get ample time to carve out his masterpiece. Lyca too was convinced as they hold the theatrical rights of Kaala which has been bankrolled by Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films. Shankar is now back to work and 2.0 may either hit the screens during the Independence Day weekend or during Diwali. Rajinikanth, Amy Jackson and Akshay Kumar played the lead roles in 2.0.
Kaala directed by PA Ranjith will be released across the globe by Lyca Productions in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi languages.
