Telangana State Assembly has been indefinitely adjourned, after functioning for 13 days. The Assembly carried its business for 60 hours and 58 minutes according to official statistics. Along with the discussion on 2018 – 2019 budget, and other government programs, the Telangana Assembly has passed 11 bills.
Today, the Panchayat Raj bill which has been tabled, passed without any amendments. AP & TS Governor Narasimhan is leaving to the US on a personal leave today evening, or tomorrow. This is the main reason behind adjourning the assembly indefinitely. The budget sessions commenced without Indian National Congress, the main opposition party. All the Congress MLAs were suspended after they got into a brawl on the first day of the assembly sessions.
The Congress MLAs interrupted Governor’s speech on the first day and got into an ugly brawl. During this, Congress MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy threw the headphones, injuring Legislative Council Chairman.
Congress MLAs Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Sampath Kumar, have been permanently expelled from the Telangana Assembly.
