In the midst of morning fog, and late night’s dew settling on the leaves, the TDP MPs made their way across the Delhi streets to protest against the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre. Quite astonishingly, they choose Raj Ghat, the memorial dedicated to Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, or simply Mahatma Gandhi, for their protests.
Dressed in white, which otherwise would symbolize peace, radiated the fight for ‘power’ and ‘power’. Nowhere had it felt like the MPs are truly, and honestly fighting for the AP Special Category Status. Today’s drama is just an extension, a continuation, and a development of yesterday’s drama in front of the PM’s residence.
What did the gain different from the protests they made in the parliament? Did any Cabinet Minister visit them? No. Only a high-ranked police official, who slickly escorted them to the police van. What’s more appalling is that TDP MP Murali Mohan, read out a piece of paper as a part of their protests, rather than uttering some inspiring words from the bottom of his heart.
TDP MPs may have forgotten that their leader Shri Nara Chandrababu Naidu ‘Garu’, got the protesters jailed for fighting SCS in the past. And now they claim ‘peaceful’ protests. There is nothing more shameful than mocking peace and ahimsa in front of Bapu’s memorial.
