Stylish star Allu Arjun’s patriotic drama Naa Peru Surya – Naa Illu India released this Friday amidst high expectations. Directed by debutant Vakkantham Vamshi, the film has Anu Emanuel as the female lead.
Naa Peru Surya took an average start at US box office with $ 207K from its Thursday premiers. Trade pundits reckon this as a pretty slow start because Allu Arjun’s previous film Duvvada Jagannadham collected $ 305K from its premiers day.
On Friday, as of this writing, NPS collected $ 155K. At this rate, the film might find it little difficult to touch the $ 1M mark in overseas in its full run as the word of mouth and web reviews are not so encouraging.
While Allu Arjun’s intense and emotional performance has been receiving terrific response, it is the poor writing that has let the film down.
