AP Minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy’s comments on the attack on Amit Shah are raising questions whether the minister is playing down the incident and defending the TDP leaders, and TDP party.
Reacting to the incident, Somireddy said, ‘the stone pelting attack on Amit Shah’s convoy is unfortunate and uncalled for. But the fact is that it is the BJP leaders who are provoking our party leaders and supporters. Even the people of Karnataka are keenly watching the comments uttered by the BJP leaders’.
Instead of accepting the fact that the TDP leaders shouldn’t have done that way, the AP Minister instead tried to play down the entire incident, by bringing in Karnataka Elections, and holding BJP leaders responsible for making provocative statements. The stone pelting took place on Amit Shah’s convoy while returning after completing his Darshan on Tirumala. Few BJP leaders vehicle glasses have been broken in this incident.
TDP leaders claim that many citizens were are also involved in the stone pelting incident. But internal sources confirmed that the attack was in fact motivated by TDP leaders present at the location.
One has to see whether the AP Police Administration will be unmoved if a similar attack takes place on AP CM Chandrababu Naidu’s convoy.
