Prudhvi has taken Brahmanandam’s place in Dictator. The reason industry sources cite is the heavy remuneration he demanded in lieu of the bulk dates the director asked from him. He apparently demanded one crore but the producers were willing to pay him only half of that, also considering the fact that the actor puts in only few hours of work every day and the rest goes in dozing in the caravan.
It must be noted that the recent big and small releases Bahubali, Srimanthudu, Cinema Chupisthara Mava etc are all box office hits despite his absence. At one point it was believed that the film would be incomplete without Brahmanandam. The actor reportedly takes 3 to 5 lakhs per day as his pay and the producers are opting for the latest comedians Saptagiri, Shakalaka Shankar who have helped films like Raju Gari Gadhi, Premakatha Chitram become box office hits.
