After making his comeback in last year’s super hit ‘Fidaa’, actor Sai Chand, we’ve learnt, is on board essaying a key role in megastar Chiranjeevi-starrer anticipated movie ‘Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy’. The actor, who made his debut with ‘Maa Bhoomi’ in 1980, was bowled over by the script and his part especially, before agreeing to join the ensemble drama, which chronicles the epic story of Kurnool-based freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy.
“Everyone knows how selective Mr. Sai Chand is and his filmography is a testimony to it. It’s the role and the fact that it’s a patriotic drama on late freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy who fought the British valiantly much before the Sepoy Mutiny, that led him to say yes to the project. In the film, he’d be seen as a part of Narasimha Reddy’s trusted team and he even participated in the almost finished key fight sequence that was shot at Kokapet, Hyderabad,” said a source close to the team.
‘Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy’, with Surendar Reddy in the director’s chair, is bankrolled by Ram Charan under his banner Konidela Production Company on a whopping budget of Rs 200 crore. Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan will be seen in a cameo in the film, while the likes of Nayantara, Sudeep, Vijay Sethupati, Brahmaji and Jagapathi Babu will be seen in pivotal roles. It is dated for a next summer release.
