Andhra Pradesh Congress chief Raghuveera Reddy while speaking to media told that reverse migration into Congress has already started and it will continue. He told that Congress party is getting strengthened day by day and will be a decisive force in 2019 elections in Andhra Pradesh.
It is very normal that political leaders always exaggerate the position of their party in front of media. But the reality will be most of the times very different from what the leaders say. Even though Kiran Kumar Reddy has joined Congress party sometime back, that initial enthusiasm in the party soon faded away as people of Andhra Pradesh didn’t even react to that event.
Raghuveera Reddy also added that, BJP has clearly told it is not going to grant special category status to Andhra Pradesh where as Rahul Gandhi told that the party will grant special category status to Andhra Pradesh, once comes into power. After keeping mum on SCS for 4 years, now Rahul Gandhi started talking about granting special category status to AP. But had he announced the same decision while replying to Galla Jayadev speech in Parliament, that could have really made a difference and people of Andhra Pradesh would at least have considered Congress Party. But while speaking in Parliament he just mentioned Galla Jayadev speech and went on to talk about “Jumla” .
So, even after CWC resolution on special category status and Rahul Gandhi’s announcements on the same topic, people are hardly considering Congress party to vote in 2019 elections in Andhra Pradesh. Therefore, obviously political leaders also not queuing up to join into Congress. Probably in last couple of months some political leaders ,who don’t get seats in any other party, may prefer to join Congress. That’s the best AP congress can hope for.
So, at this moment, Raghuveera Reddy statement that reverse migration into Congress has started seems to be exaggerated one and far fom ground level reality.
