Nara Rohith, Jagapathi Babu, Darshana Banik, Brahmanandam starring film ‘ Aatagallu’ is released on August 24, 2018 with low buzz. Nee Sneham, Andhrudu films director Paruchuri Murali handled this project. Let us see how it has been shaped up:

Story: Popular cinema director Siddharth’s wife Anjali dies under suspicious circumstances. Initial suspect is siddharth, but later a carpenter gets arrested in the case. As the investigation further proceeds, mind game triggers between the public prosecutor Veerendra and the director. Rest of the story reveals how Siddharth’s wife is introduced to him, how she dies, who is the real culprit? Etc. details

Performances: Nara Rohith’s character has dual shadese, he tries his best to be convincing as an image conscious director and as a menacing suspect. Jagapathi Babu has donned a public prosecutor character which has no highlights to mention. Brahmanandam comedy doesn’t work yet another time. Model turned heroine Darshana looks okay but appears too tiny opposite Nara Rohith.

Analysis :

‘Aatagallu’ is yet another slow paced film that are being flooded Tollywood lately. Right from the word go, audience feel boring in seats as the proceedings are disengaged. The supposed mind game between veerendra, Siddharth turns to be damp squib as there isn’t any smart writing involved.

First half takes time in explaining Anjali, Siddarth love and marriage. Second half is more into investigation of Anjali murder and change of suspects. Supporting characters are of B-Grade.

As the core elements lack any commercial suitability, this film tests patience. Jagapathi babu role builds up initialy as a smart, committed one but as it progresses doesn’t appear with initial zeal.

Verdict:

‘Aatagallu’ is a murder mystery film, there are no engaging elements at any point of the fillm. With B-grade production values this film wastes Nara Rohith and Jagapathi Babu. You may avoid it!
