The controversy surrounding the Rs. 58,000 crore Rafale jet fighter deal between India and France is generating more suspicion than curiosity now.
Congress president Rahul Gandhi had already levelled charges of huge corruption against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal demanded a special session of Parliament to discuss the shady deal. BJP leaders were asserting that this was the handiwork of the Congress-led UPA government in the past.
It all began after Opposition leaders alleged thousands of crores of corruption in the acquisition of 36 Rafale jet fighters from France.
Now, BJP faced attack from its former ally TDP which is presently Congress partner.
Referring to the deal, AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had launched a stinging attack against the BJP. He said that it was now clear that Modi had told lies with regard to the Rafale deal and that the Prime Minister should apologise to the Nation unconditionally.
Mr. Naidu referred to the disclosures in the media how former French president Francois Hollande had reportedly clarified that they allowed Anil Ambani’s Reliance Defence to become a partner of France’s Dassault Aviation at the request of Indian government. Hollande was stated to have said that France was left with no choice in this episode.
Chandrababu Naidu toured Kurnool district just now and inaugurated Owk reservoir tunnel and Pulikanuma project in the presence of Water Resources Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao and others.
Mr. Naidu once again launched a scathing attack on Jaganmohan Reddy, saying that the YCP leader was more interested in serving PM Modi and BJP’s interests rather than fighting for the cause of AP. While TDP is waging struggle for justice to the deceived AP, YCP and other parties were joining hands with the enemies of the new state.
It is going to be a battle between forces that work for achieving special status and other promises for AP and those not so much interested in this agenda.
