AP CM Chandrababu Naidu has repeatedly asked for immediate central assistance for cyclone-hit Srikakulam district but there has been no positive response from the BJP government at Centre so far. Jana Senani Pawan announced help by creating awareness from his side. He criticised AP government for not sending immediate reports to Centre and he also demanded Centre to release funds.
Now, Congress entered the scene and blamed BJP leadership for not coming to the rescue of cyclone-hit families in Srikakulam. Congress AP incharge Oommen Chandy expressed concern over total indifference of the Centre to travails and woes of AP in such a severe cyclone as Titli. There is no help so far and no Central officials’ team visited damaged areas in Srikakulam, which shows BJP’s negligence, says Chandy.
Accompanied by Congress AP President Raghuveera Reddy, Chandy visited the north coastal areas. Taking serious objection, Chandy has finally demanded national calamity status to Titli cyclone. He has chosen to go soft on ruling TDP which is their ally in Telangana. Congress leaders did not focus much on other parties as their only concern right now was to create a correct political atmosphere to ally with TDP or such like-minded parties.
