The Telangana Police has prepared a report on the allegations by the opposition party leaders over the phone tapping issue and it would submit it to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Telangana State Mr. Rajat Kumar on Sunday.
Sources from the TS Police headquarters told ‘Telugu 360’ that the nodal officer from the police department to the Election Commission of India (ECI) and Additional Director General of Police Mr. Jitendra was in a trip to Delhi for attending review meetings by the ECI and he returned to Hyderabad on Friday evening. Soon after his arrival, he called on the Director General of Police Mr. M. Mahender Reddy and reviewed on the matter. “The additional DG has prepared a report on phone tapping allegations and he supposes to submit it to the CEO on Sunday,” the sources added.
The sources added that the police claim it did not tap any phone call and it would not until and unless there would necessity of it in cases of threat to National Security. The report is also consisting of clarifications to the questions raised by the CEO in his letter sent to the DGP on Friday including the process of the phone tapping. The TS police have explained the process begins with the approval from the Union Home Secretary followed by bringing the matter into the notice of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) and the security wing of the Department of Telecommunications (DOT) and consulting the respective telecom operators for monitoring phone calls.
