Vijay’s latest movie Sarkar landed into controversies. The movie severely criticized the freebies given by the governments to people and has references to freebies provided by AIADMK government. Another controversy is the movie indirectly referred Jayalalitha and shown her in bad light.
Tamil Nadu State Information and Publicity Minister Kadambur C Raju has warned Sarkar team to remove some controversial scenes from the movie. Thse are scenes that show people throwing away freebies provided by the Tamil Nadu government. Director AR Murugadoss himself makes a cameo appearance in the movie and throws the State-provided mixer grinders and wet grinders into the fire. Now these scenes creating tremors in the state of Tamil Nadu. Kadambur C Raju said the government would take necessary steps to chop the scenes if the makers don’t remove them voluntarily. Minister also added, “This is not good for an upcoming actor like Vijay. I know people won’t accept these scenes. It was brought to our knowledge and this was disappointing.”
All Vijay’s movies in recent times have been landing into troubles as he is showing up his political ambitions in his movies. Vijay’s previous movie, Mersal had similar controversies as it had dialogues on GST and demonetization. Mersal got severe criticism from BJP’s Tamil Nadu President Tamilisai Soundararajan but that actually helped Mersal getting more collections. Now Sarkar getting oposition from AIADMK. We will have to wait and see if this also helps Sarkar collections in Tamil Nadu.
