The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has faced lots of criticism for going for early election by announcing dissolution of the Assembly. The main opposition Congress party’s leaders responded differently to the announcement. Senior Congress leader Marri Sasidhar Reddy has also filed court cases seeking cancellation of early polls. Referring to this, TRS chief and CM K. Chandrasekhara Rao has accused Congress of adopting an escapist approach after having challenged the TRS over early election.
KCR has recalled how some Congress leaders have asserted their preparedness even to get ready for a midnight election as well. But the same opposition leaders are questioning the appropriateness of TRS decision now and this only reflects their bankruptcy politically, said KCR. He blamed these leaders for trying to create confusion by filing 10 to 15 cases in court against early polls.
In his speech addressing ‘Praja Aseervada’ election meeting at Ibrahimpatnam near Hyderabad, KCR said he had accepted Congress challenge and announced dissolution of Assembly consequently over which there should be no need for any ruckus or confusion. He appealed to the people to look at the 15 years’ agitation of TRS for achieving separate state and 58 years’ unjust rule of Congress-TDP parties.
KCR hit back at Sonia Gandhi’s comments, saying that should the AICC president feel sorry for electing TRS as its government has ensured supply of 24-hours power and give Rs. 1 lakh for marriage of girl child. KCR asserted that the Congress is trying to bring ‘outsider’ rule in Telangana by allying with TDP.
