The Telangana Police have all set for the Bandhobust for the elections and focusing more on Sensitive and Hyper Sensitive polling stations, said a higher official to ‘Telugu 360’.
Any state assembly elections had ever seen much deployment of forces comparing with the ongoing elections in Telangana with more than 90,000 forces including 50,000 of state police from home guard to higher official, 20,000 of central forces and 20,000 more from neighbouring states like Karnataka, Maharashtra, Odessa and Chhattisgarh.
Meanwhile, the Telangana police officials are adopting technology to ensure smooth and peaceful elections. “We are utilizing the ‘Face Recognition System’ in the elections to identify Maoists, Naxals, Most Wanted Criminals and trouble makers. Similarly, we are establishing control rooms at every district which will have connectivity from webcasting and CCTV Cameras which are already installed at polling stations,” the official said.
In order to protect polling stations existed at the Hyper Sensitive localities; the police have already been implementing a three-tier security plan. “We are deploying striking forces at all the 5,000 identified sensitive polling stations and special striking forces at 1,500 hyper sensitive polling stations. We have issued directions to all the district election officers to impose 144-section at all the polling stations. We have already bound over trouble makers, rowdy sheeters and history sheeters. We created an atmosphere to the voters to cast their vote without fear,” the official added.
The official, on the condition of anonymous told ‘Telugu 360’ that more than 50% of central armed forces had been deployed at the naxals affected localities in Jayasankhar Bhupalapally and Bhadradri-Kothagudem districts. “We are focusing more on naxals’affected segments including Sirpur, Chennur, Bellampelly, Mancherial, Asifabad, Manthani, Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Pinapaka, Illandu, Kothagudem, Aswaraopet and Bhadrachalam,” the official said.
