Former minister and ex-MP Konathala Ramakrishna from Anakapalle in Visakhpatnam district has earlier worked in Congress party and YSRCP. He was MP during 1989-96. When YS Jagan floated party, he joined YSRCP but later was expelled from YSRCP on disciplinary grounds. After that he didn’t join any party but focusing on North Andhra issues. As per latest reports, he is planning to join TDP. His recent interview with media, in which he spoke positive about TDP seems to be an indication in this direction.
Konathala Rama Krishna has good rapport with former chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy and he has been inviting Konatala to join the Congress party. YSRCP, that expelled him earlier, also willing to join him back into the party. At the same time, he had discussions with Janasena as well earlier. So, he has the option to choose from Congress, YSRCP and Janasena. But it seems he is preferrring TDP now. He told in a recent interview that YSRCP graph is going down and at the same time Janasena party is not strengthening at grass root level. He also opined that, out of these parties, TDP is actually doing better job and has good chances of coming back into power.
By seeing Konathala’s words many people are coming to conclusion that he is all set to join TDP. But we will have to wait and see whether he will really join TDP or not.
