The Bharatiya Janata Party’s dream of winning Telangana polls ended in a disaster as it could win just one MLA seat. Now the BJP Telangana unit leaders are analysing reasons for this unexpected and inexplainable defeat. They never thought of performing this badly but they failed miserably for which they had to explain to the national leadership.
One of the reasons being given by the BJP leaders is that the party national leadership has neglected the Telangana state leadership in allocation of top level posts. Bandaru Dattatreya used to be a key figure as union minister in the past that served as a motivating factor. But now there is no leader from Telangana who is given any position by the BJP national leadership. On the other hand, lot of priority was given to AP leaders.
It is an undeniable fact Andhra leaders are doing well in BJP national politics. There is M. Venkaiah Naidu who served as a Union Minister till recently and currently serving as the Vice-President. Next comes GVL Narasimha Rao who got Rajya Sabha MP post. Moreover, there is Suresh Prabhu who represents AP in Rajya Sabha and who is serving as a Union Minister now.
The BJP Telangana leaders are left in a demotivated mood following lack of priority within party. Another reason given by them is the fact that their unit has no unifying and dominating leader like KCR to pull the party out of leadership crisis.
