Telangana CM K Chandrasekhara Rao is a meticulous planner and strategist who makes untiring efforts for taking advantage of every system. Now he wants the Election Commission of India to altogether denotify and remove camera, cap, truck and iron box and such things as election symbols.
KCR’s argument is that such symbols as represented in the election commission figures are looking more or less like the TRS symbol which is car. He says because of this confusion, many sympathisers could not properly vote for their TRS party which has caused huge losses in the recent election. The TRS leaders say if smaller factors like symbol mismatch are not there, their party would have crossed the 100-mark in the early polls.
KCR has met with Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Aroda and asked for removal of these problems before the April-May 2019 general election. KCR says in the assembly elections, cap, camera, etc symbols were allotted for the independents which has resulted in a loss of up to 10,000 votes to TRS in varying degrees in the segments.
KCR also wants the colour of his party symbol car be darkened a bit more in the ballot paper so that the voters will easily recognise at the polling booth.
