YSR Congress on Saturday came down heavily on Telugu Desam government for keeping the people in the dark about all crucial decisions. ” What is going on Andhra Pradesh is dark rule,”: said party’ spokesperson Vasireddy Padma.” All Important decisions are being taken surreptitiously and the GOs concerning these decisions are kept confidential. In the past 16 months, the government has issued about 700 GOs which have been kept out of public knowledge,” she said. Stating that in the era of right to information, there was nothing like confidential in the government, especially in the state government, she added.
She demanded that the People had the right to know the contents of these GO and reasons for keeping them away from the public. ” No GO should be kept confidential for so a long a time as is being done in the case of TDp government ,” he said. Referring to the distribution of government lands to the friends and relatives of chief minister Naidu, Vasireddy Padma said VBC company, belonging to the close relative of Hindupur MLA Balakrishna had been allotted Rs 300 cr worth land at a throw away price. “Similarly a friend of Nara Lokesh Babu has been allotted Rs 300 cr worth land in Vizag in the name of setting up an IT firm. While in Rayalaseema, Galla Aruna Kumari,TDP leader from Chittoor is the beneficiary of the government’s largess. She got Rs 50 cr worth land at a cheaper rate,” she said.
“Chief minister Naidu wants us to take Galla Arunakumari’s justice is Justice to Rayalaseema while the benefit to Balakrishna’s relative is benefit to the coastal region and that of Lokesh’ s friend as the justice to backward North Andhra,” the YSRC leader ridiculed.
Objecting frequent release of so called white papers by chief minister Naidu, Vasireddy Padma said, People want white papers on issues like the distribution of government lands to friends and relatives and these confidential GOs not on issues unrelated to the welfare of people.
” When poor belonging to Dalit and Backward communities are denied house sites in many instances, these relatives and friends of chief minister are getting vast swathes of land dead cheap,” she said adding that her party would fight against all these confidential GOs and expose the TDP government’s true colors.
