Andhra Pradesh PCC president Raghuveera Reddy has made sensational statement saying that he will never enter his state and native village if the Congress party, after coming back to power, doesn’t award Special Category Status (SCS).
Speaking during his tour in Anantapur district, the AP PCC president said: “After becoming Prime Minister of India, Rahul Gandhi will make his first signature on the file of awarding Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh. In case, it didn’t happen, then I will not enter my village and Andhra Pradesh as well. My houses and all my properties are in AP only. I am here for the last 62 years.”
The then Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh announced the Special Status to AP for five years. Subsequently, BJP during the general elections promised special status, but put it on the back burner after forming the NDA government, said Reddy. It may be recalled that Congress chief Rahul Gandhi on several occasions assured special status to AP, once his party comes back to the power.
