Prime Minister Modi is taking keen interest in the Karnataka politics when it comes to South India. The reason is obviously that the BJP narrowly missed forming the government there. The party is also trying to find any scope to win over some MLAs from ruling allies and replace the JDS-Congress government there. Amid this, Modi has said Kumara Swamy is behaving just like a clerk because of the alliance government there.
PM has said the Congress leaders are not allowing Kumara Swamy to function a full-fledged chief minister with enough powers to act independently. At every step, the Congress ministers and leaders are putting troubles in the path of Kumara Swamy who is not able to fully meet the expectations of the people. Modi’s aim is apparently to point out how ineffective the alliance governments of the Congress and its allies.
The Karnataka Congress leaders hit back strongly at Modi. They said the BJP is trying to create differences within the JDS-Congress coalition thereby to take a political advantage. In a counter strategy, the Congress Karnataka leaders are trying to win over some MLAs from the BJP camp so as to foil any attempt on the part of Modi-Shah duo to remove the JDS-Congress government in Karnataka.
