Greater troubles are waiting for Opposition leader Jaganmohan Reddy. He has already lost Muslim minority vote bank of his close friendship with the BJP. Now, another blow is given to the YCP. Prominent Kapu leader Vangaveeti Radhakrishna has left Jagan’s party after long weeks of discussions. Radha has written his goodbye letter to Jagan finally in which he expressed his bitterness over not being given Vijayawada Central assembly segment ticket.
The Kapus are a sizeable chunk of vote bank which may make or mar the winning chances of contesting parties. When there was no Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan in politics, it was the Kapu vote bank that used to be a deciding factor in making the TDP or the Congress to form the government at that time. In the coming election, there is Pawan Kalyan who is expected to claim major share of his Kapu caste vote bank. The TDP is also popular among this caste because of its strong leaders like Ministers Ganta Srinviasa Rao, P. Narayana and others.
Till now, the YCP expected its own share of Kapu vote because of the presence of Vangaveeti family. But now the scene has totally changed with the exit of Radhakrishna. Jagan could not follow his father YSR who used to closely nurture the Kapu vote bank in his time.
