Akkineni Nagarjuna seems to be not taking the right decision in shaping up the careers of his two sons – Naga Chaitanya and Akhil. It is an undeniable fact that both the Akkineni youngsters got the worst possible start as heroes with their debut films turning out to be huge disasters. ‘Josh’ for Chaitu and ‘Akhil’ for Akhil are definitely not the films which can be treated as launch vehicles for star kids. This proved to be very costly mistake from Nagarjuna as both of them couldn’t create a decent market even after several attempts. Chaitu and Akhil has got the potential to emerge as star heroes. They have improved a lot of in terms of their performances since their debut films. Unfortunately, they couldn’t find the big success that could provide great stability to their careers. Chaitu managed to carve out a niche due to decent hits here and there. But, Akhil is yet to make an impact at box office. His latest film Mr. Majnu also opened to lukewarm response at box office.
Being a producer himself, Nag is unable to set the right combination and provide the much needed lift to their low lying careers. In this aspect, he can take cue from star producer Bellamkonda Suresh who has been going all out for his son Bellamkonda Srinivas. Irrespective of the box office results, Bellamkonda is ensuring that his son get to work with star directors. He is digging his pockets very deep for every film of his son and making sure that he stays in the race with current generation young heroes. On the other side, Nagarjuna is not willing to take risks as a producer for his sons. So, they are struggling to get the opportunity to work with top directors. It is high time Nagarjuna realises his mistake and take sensible decisions to boost the careers of both Akhil and Naga Chaitanya.
