The AP state is getting one blow after another in Delhi power corridors. The who is who of influential national leaders strongly believe that Andhra MPs and leaders are a wealthy lot who do not agree on anything because of their narrow political and personal gains. Former MP Vundavalli Arun Kumar says much harm has already been done to AP on account of this dominant feeling in Delhi political circles.
Vundavalli is right in certain ways as the Andhra MPs totally failed at the height of separate statehood demand in Parliament when Telangana MPs fought a united battle cutting across political lines. Finally AP was separated with no capital of its own and very scarce resources. Now greater harm is being done to AP because of lack of unity among the state’s leaders. Already, the BJP is showing a step-motherly attitude towards it because of lack of scope for the party to win MP seats in the state.
Vundavalli is appealing to leaders of all parties to change their attitude and prevent further damage. He said Planning Commission Chairman Kutumba Rao told him about Delhi impressions about AP leaders. TDP leaders are expressing surprise why Vundavalli is not asking BJP spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao to mend his ways and help the state. GVL also hails from the Guntur district.
